I am originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so yes, I have been ice-skating since I was a baby. For as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with art in all forms. When I was eleven years old I discovered music and that was and continues to be my jam.
In 2008, I moved to Portland, OR where I could share my passion with others like myself. During my time in PDX I have played in more than a dozen bands and have had the opportunity to play for audiences in several countries around the world. While doing so I worked as Lead Valet at a hotel for over eleven years.
When COVID-19 hit, I was laid off from my job and was unable to play music with my friends. I immediately shifted my creative outlet to painting, which I enjoy very much. I spent many hours reflecting on what to do next and I was naturally drawn to UX design.
Through my years in hospitality and my experience performing, I have interacted with people from all walks of life. It has made my empathy for people unshakable and I believe I can put it to use through Design. I want to make peoples’ everyday interactions with technology less stressful and maybe even bring them joy.
